[Resolvido] Lubuntu não reconhece placa Wireless do ECS A535

Boa tarde,

Coloquei o Xubuntu no meu desktop e gostei. Tenho um laptop antigo e coloquei o Lubuntu. Funciona bem, conecta automaticamente na conexão a cabo, mas a rede wireless nem dá sinal (o led sinalizador não acende).
Passei o dia inteiro, literalmente, de ontem tentando fazer pegar e nada.
O que encontrei na pesquisa pelo google e aqui no forum dava um resultado relativamente simples:
Bastava instalar o pacote "linux-wlan-ng", via synaptic, que a placa automaticamente funcionaria. Não aconteceu comigo.
Se alguém puder me ajudar a habilitar esta placa, agradeceria muito.

Segue alguns dados:
Lubuntu 10.04
Laptop ECS A535+

pacotes instalados (somente via synaptic):

Tentei verificar o comando "#iwlist wlan0 scan" e tive como resposta que "inteface doesn't suppot scannig"; com o comando "#iwconfig" me aparece "lo no wireless extensions" e "eth0 no wireless extensions". Com o "#lspci" tive como resposta:

Primeiramente obrigado por responder. Também pensei o mesmo e quando tentei este comando, "lsudb", tive como resposta:

É verdade que manjo muito pouco do Linux, mas por ser uma placa que está dentro da máquina eu, ingenuamente, pensei que fosse pcmcia. Quando tentei o comando "lsusb" foi por estratégia de desespero (naquelas de tentar de tudo). De todo modo, o problema continua (e mesmo tendo perguntado continuo aqui batendo cabeça).

Li o manual dele lá na ecs. Tem uma luz de acionamento do wi-fi  lado direito em cima do teclado )

Mas no manual não existe nenhuma referencia de como acionar a placa e logico, acender a luz de aviso.

É por teclado ou botão?

Pois como pudemos ver, sua placa esta desligada ( lsusb+lspci )

Lendo os pacotes, para o 10.04 voce deve instalar: prism2-usb-firmware-installer

Citarprism2-usb-firmware-installer will at the time of its own installation

Pois é. Essa luz acende automaticamente. No Windows para acioná-la ou desativá-la, a placa e por consequência o led, o fazia via software.
Quanto ao link, foi esse um dos primeiros que ví. Mas não me ajudou muito, pois para o Luis Mota o problema foi resolvido, pelo que parece, simplesmente instalando o pacote "linux-wlan-ng". Que não foi o meu caso. Além do que, ele teve sucesso sob a versao 7.04 do Ubuntu. Outros usuário da distribuição tiveram problemas com versões mais recentes e nas discussões que ví, não achei, ou não apresentaram, solução.
Sobre o pacote que você me sugeriu, já está instalado aqui, como coloquei no final do primeiro post. Mas também não surtiu efeito, como vimos pelos lspci+lsusb.

Só por desencargo de consciencia de em terminal um sudo dmesg

Veja se encontra sua placa lá.

Se encontrar copie e cole a parte referente a ela aqui.

de também um sudo lsmod

para ver se os modulos de sua placa foram carregados.

Oi jefferson. Posso te dar uma sugestão? Eu acho que não vale muito a pena investir nessa placa... além de vc estar apanhando dela --- e ela nem foi reconhecida no lsusb! ---, ela é 802.11b, ou seja, além de ser limitada a 11Mbps, na hora em que vc a estiver usando, ela vai fazer todos os outros dispositivos no alcance ficarem limitados a 11Mbps também, mesmo que sejam capazes de trabalhar a 300Mbps.

Além disso, seu notebook é antigo, não? Vc não disse se essa placa estava funcionando antes de instalar o Linux nele. Estava?

Então, uma boa idéia seria você pegar um adaptador wireless USB, e tentar a vida com ele. Vc vai conseguir alguns a preços razoáveis.

Note que não estou dizendo que seja impossível... só acho que o resultado não vale o trabalho que você está tendo.
Pesquise antes de perguntar, sua dúvida pode já ter sido respondida.

Como bem disse o zekkrj, ela não está habilitada.

Pelo lsmod ( que mostra os modulos instalados ) o prism2-usb não foi "levantado"

Li por alto, e como voce já instalou os modulos e o firmware, pode tentar em terminal

sudo modprobe prism2-usb

e ver se o modulo é "levantado", ou seja, se é carregado.

E também como disse o zekkrj é uma placa meio antiga, e que não suporta encriptação avançada ( WPA ) logo sua rede vai ficar sempre insegura.

Boa tarde.
A placa funcionava, com Windows. Anteontem a instalei com o Vector Linux (usando ndiswrapper e modprobe)e a luz até acendeu, (o linux reconheceu que existia a placa) mas não consegui conexão. Pensei que com o Lubuntu seria mais fácil.
O problema é que apaguei o arquivo .inf e o .sys que, talvez funcionasse.
Mudar a placa é minha ultimíssima opção (não estou querendo gastar muito com esta máquina, mas se não tiver jeito...), além do mais, minha conexão atual é lenta (560kbps), acho que tão cedo não vou fazer upgrade.
Agora, pensando em usar o ndiswrapper no lubuntu...
Baixei o pacote de driver da placa no site da ECS. Descompactei e fiz o ndiswrapper com o arquivo .inf que apareceu lá(AVWLPNIC.inf e AVWLPNIC.sys). Também nao surtiu efeito. Agora pergunto:
É possível fazer com que o linux extraia o pacote de driver como se estivesse no Windows? Explico. Na pasta de drivers que tinha do Windows, para a placa wireless havia um arquivo chamado "oem7.inf" e "oem7. sys" (foi com eles que consegui que acendesse a luz sob o Vector Linux), será que consigo compilá-los com o pacote de driver que baixei sem ter que instalar o Windows e depois o Lubuntu?
Ah.. e pra adiantar, e pra não ficar novamente batendo cabeça caso não encontre solução, qual adaptador usb wireless vocês me recomendariam (que atenda ao famoso bb [bom, ou funcional, e barato])?

Se tem o cd do windows em mãos basta extrair estes dois arquivos que estão dentro do cd.

Geralmente estariam assim=> oem7. sy_

Indicando estarem compactados. Use o comando extract para obter o arquivo.

Vá até uma maquina que possua o windows instalado ( vizinho as vezes serve para alguma coisa  ;D  ) e faça o procedimento gravando num pen drive por exemplo.

Desisti...

Me debati muito, tentei de tudo que fiquei sabendo e nada... O laptop é muito antigo, não vale investir em equipamento. Coloquei o windows xp nele novamente e a placa está funcionando belezinha.
