Boa Noite.
Estou com o mesmo problema, inclusive se estiver rodando na máquina virtual fica rápido mesmo.
O problema parece de latência, ou o ping inicial demora entorno de 47ms..
Veja o ping pelo terminal:

Devido a este problema fica muito ruim utilizar o leitor de e-mail evolution.
