problemas com synaptic

quando tento abrir o synaptic ele da este erro, fui botar o endereço do opera no repositório e depois ele me apresente este problema, será que mexi em alguma coiza.

E: Linha mal formada 53 no arquivo de fontes /etc/apt/sources.list (análise de distribuição)
E: A lista de fontes não pôde ser lida.
Configure as opções de repositórios para corrigir o problema.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Já tentou tirar a linha acrescentada?
1 - Abra o Synaptic
2 - Configurações > Repositórios > Programa de terceiros
3 - Veja o endereço que você acresntou e mande remover
4 - Feche a janela
5 - Atualize

Se der certo, instale o Opera pelo pacote .deb

o synaptic não abre de jeito nenhum, ele dá esta informação e fecha.
agora consegui fazer com que ele abra, só que agora ele da a seguintes respostas:
E: Linha mal formada 38 no arquivo de fontes /etc/apt/sources.list (análise de distribuição)
E: Impossível trancar o diretório de listas
confira com as fotos abaixo o que esta acontecendo

Copia o conteúdo do arquivo com problemas e cole ele aqui.

Camarada, você está usando a versão gutsy e adicionou um repositório para o jaunty (mesmo que fosse o 9.04 daria erro pois o nome jaunty está grafado errado).
Digite no terminal:
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
Depois apague as linhas do opera e jaunty (tome cuidado para não apagar as linha erradas).

Já pensou em instalar um versão do Ubuntu mais nova? Recomendo a 9.04, os pacotes de aplicativos são mais novos.

Obrigado amigos do pinguim que me ajudaram a resolver este problema, tinha feito besteira ao colocar o reposotótio do opera e mexi em alguma coiza no regenciador de pacotes, depois tentei consertar colocando uma sourc list de uma verssão anterior ao 9.04 , graça a list do Adriano R.N. esta tudo serto
