Problemas com players de áudio e vídeo ubuntu

boa noite!


pessoal meus players de áudio (rythbox) e vídeo (totem) estavam funcionando normal até que fui rodar um vídeo extraído do youtube pelo site keepvid.com no formato mp4 e apareceu a seguinte mensagem : "ocorreu um erro de tráfego". pronto, depois disso o totem não está rodando os vídeos nem músicas, eu dou o "play" e ele praticamente não roda os arquivos. o pior é que até o rithbox foi afetado com o mesmo problema. alguém tem alguma sugestão?
