Como aumentar a resolução da tela???[RESOLVIDO]

Pessoal, tava com o ubuntu 7.04 64bits e minha resolução dava 1280x1024... porem fui pro 7.04 32 bits e minha resolução maxima, mesmo instalando o driver de video atraves dos drivers restritos, é 1024x768...
Alguem sabe como aumentar minha resolução??

Meu pc é um althon 64 x2 4200+, 2gb de ram, placamae Asus A8N-E, placa de video ati radeon x300 128mb pci-e...

Tente selecionar a resolução colocando o comando:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

Se não funcionar, tente acrescentar manualmente em todas as linhas Modes a resolução "1280x1024"

Faça um backup antes de editar:

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorgback.conf

Edite o xorg:

sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Exemplo:

SubSection "Display"
      Depth      24
      Modes     "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"

Ctrl+Alt+Backspace para reiniciar o X

Grande solução. 
Estava procurando como alterar a resolução do meu UBUNTU 7.04 LiveCD e depois de muita pesquisa achei a sua solução que resolveu o meu problema pois só conseguia 800x600 e agora tenho também 1024x768 (mesmo rodando direto do CD) que é onde queria chegar.
Com este testemunho espero ajudar outros usuários, com o mesmo problema.
