Problema Instalar Mercury

Boas...
Ando a tentar instalar o mercury (cliente instant messaging) e está dificil, saquei um .deb versão 1.8
Sempre que executo na consola mercury retorna-me isto:

Tenho o Java instalado, JRE 5.0, tentei instalar o 6 mas confesso que não sei se está bem instalado...
Podem-me ajudar? (:

Também nao consegui, dei um "sudo apt-get install mercury" ele instalou mas nao roda nada O_o

o pacote mercury é uma linguaguem de programação conforme pode ver abaixo na descrição do Synaptic.

A new logic/functional programming language
This package contains all the files required for developing programs
in the Mercury language.

O comunicador mercury que é baseado em Java parece se chamar Mercury Messenger, mais acho que não tem nos repositórios, então vc tera que achar algum .DEB ou mesmo talvez até ter que compilar os fontes.
