Erro no apt-get ou aptitude (com qualquer pacote) [resolvido]

O apt-get update roda normal mas ao instalar da os erros abaixo:

O comando é para ser efetuado como usuário comum depois ele lhe pedira a senha, tente de novo.

Melhor dizendo copie daqui e cole no terminal.

é que eu já estava como root, assim ele ignora o sudo, porém fiz novamente com usuário comum usando sudo, e retornou a mesma coisa..

mas o problema dele é com o ttf-mscorefonts-installer, aqui no meu caso ta com problema no tzdata.... e já tentei removei/reconfigurar e não deu certo também.. faz tempo já que to com esse problema

O Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, deve ter perdido o suporte de atualização

Acho melhor você passar para o Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS
