bom dia pessoal estou a tentar instalar uma VMware so que ta pedindo um caminho que naum sei onde fica... vou colocar todo o processo...

oh pessoal sera que o erro ta aqui.... you need to have a C compiler installed on your system

naum sei se ta instalado... como ver isso???

Você instalou esses pacotes?

build-essential
linux-headers

Você tem o Feisty ou Gutsy?
Se for o Feisty ja dá para instalar através de repositórios.

opa amigo... tenho o ubuntu 7.10 creio q não tenho instalados esses dois pacotes... vou instalalos pra ver no que vai dar.... vlws

xinetd server

sudo apt-get install xinetd

instalei os pacotes q se flw...

build-essential
linux-headers
xinetd server

porem o linux-headers deu uma msg de que ja esta na versão mais atual....

e lamentavelmente não consigo passar dessa parte...

Tem um patch para você instalar como no Feisty.

Dica muito boa mesmo, deu certo!  ;D

Ja fazia algum tempo que eu estava lutando para instalar o VMWare tools num Ubuntu 10.04 virtualizado no VMWare ESXi e após a instalação dos pacotes contidos no comando sudo aptitude install build-essential xinetd linux-headers-$(uname -r) , finalmente consegui realizar a estação do VMWare tools.

Eu também instalei um pacote chamado open-vm-source ,que no final das contas eu não sei se era necessário.

Esse problema com o cabeçalho do kernel (linux header), já não acontece com a versão 10.10, instala numa boa.
