As vezes minha placa de som é detectada, as vezes não

Minha placa de som sempre foi detectada desde que comecei a usar Ubuntu com o Hoary (é um notebook Toshiba A60). No entanto no Edgy tô com um probleminha chato de as vezes ela não ser detectada.

Como pode ser visto, alguma coisa deu errado quando ele tentou incluir o módulo para o som resultando nesses timeouts.

Se eu reiniciar o som volta a funcionar, mas gostaria de saber se não há uma maneira de redetectar o hardware sem reboot.
