Ubuntu 11.10 no Vostro 3550

Olá, estou começando a utilizar o ubuntu e atualizei a versão 11.04 para a 11.10, mas estou tendo alguns problemas, principalmente com minha webcam, ela não quer funcionar, com o comando lsusb no terminal o id dela é o seguinte:  ID 05ca: 181f Ricoh Co. , Ltd

    Eu também estou com problema, mas na placa de video, não ativa o 3D de forma alguma, isto desde o Ubuntu 11.04. É esta maldita tecnologia Hybrida que utiliza a placa da intel e a placa da NVidia. A minha é a Geforcew 310m. Já rendeu arduas discoções no forum, mas nao funciona. Achei que com este novo kernel rolaria, mas nao rola

    Qdo eu comprei este note, eu instalei o ubuntu 11.04 e ralando com este problema, cheguei a ver algo sobre o bumblebee, mas na época o projeto esta iniciando, vou ver como esta agora, e vou testar!!!!! Ai postarei aqui o que rolou. Valew pela dica!!!!!! Abs

Descobri que o problema não é na webcam, e sim na instalação do driver de vídeo da minha placa, na parte de drivers adicionais, tenho duas opções, a primeira se chama: "Driver gráfico proprietário FGLRX ATI/AMD (atualizações pós instalação)", e a segunda chama: "Driver proprietário ATI/AMD FGLRX". Quando tentei instalar a primeira opção, deu o seguinte erro: "Desculpe, a instalação deste driver falhou. Por favor, dê uma olhada no arquivo de log para obter detalhes: /var/log/jockey.log". No arquivo jockey.log está o seguinte:

E eu não entendo nada, a segunda opção dá pra instalar sem erro, mas a webcam para de funcionar, o cheese nem abre, daí quando desativei o driver pra ver se o cheese abria denovo não deu certo, e ao reiniciar o notebook a interface unity sumiu....

Alguém sabe resolver o problema?? Pois a qualidade de imagem da webcam está baixa, acho que é porque o driver da placa de vídeo não está instalado....

Tive o mesmo problema no meu HP com placa de video ATI Radeon 3450.

Cara, muito tempo atras eu sou be que existia um patch do modulo vgaswitcheroo do kernel para fazer funcionar em placa nvidia, mas eu realment enao mexi mais nisso ja qu enao tem uma placa pra testar.

nao sei se servira de alguma cosia mas... nao custa tenstar.

outra coisa, o comando do optmus pode ser adicionado a atalho dos programas nos quais voce deseja usa-lo, na é automatico mas ajuda.

Tela piscando sem parar
Drop-down fecha assim que a gente abre.
selecao de testo nao se mantem... e por ai vai.
E como se um buffer estourasse e o sistema tenta se recuperar.

Bom, de qualquer maneira, aqui comigo so rodou com o Knoppix... em ingles.
