Atualização 9.10 para 10.4 - teclado e mouse com problema

Fiz atualização do 9.10 para o 10.4 e agora o mouse e teclado pararam de funcionar!!

Tentei reiniciar 10 vezes: certo momento funcionou o teclado e mouse (mas ficou sem internet e sem acesso aos outros HDs) e na outra ficou funcionando somente o mouse.... Ou seja, após a atualização o ubuntu ficou totalmente instável...

Alguém pode me ajudar?

Procurei no google e achei problemas parecidos com outras versões do ubuntu após a atualização, mas a solução não deu certo no meu caso.

Procurando "entendi" que o problema poderia ser num tal de HAL e/ou D-BUS... porém desconheço o que seja e o que fazer para configurar tudo isso
O teclado e o mouse continuam travados...

pode parecer idiota, mas eu já vi isso em algum lugar aqui funcionar... você já tentou desconectar eles e conectar denovo depois de iniciado o OS? Ademas (), não tenho muitas ideias nunca tive problemas com eles no ubuntu...

Pois é akaihen , foi a primeira coisa que ue fiz, achei q o mouse estava com problemas tirei e coloquei de novo.. e nada... Mas depois que fui usar o teclado vi que também não funcionava....

Dei uma olha no fórum e achei algumas coisas parecidas, mas a solução não deu certo comigo, deve ser pq se tratava de outra versão do ubuntu...

Tinha achado um site com a solução (que não deu certo comigo) mas acabei perdendo, assim que achar posto no fórum para ver se alguem tem alguma ideia.

Brigadao pela ajuda.

Hoje resolvi entrar no arquivo xorg.conf (o mesmo que sempre da erro comigo quando atualizo o ubuntu) e para minha surpresa havia várias linhas de configuração de mouse e teclado comentadas e com aviso, porém eu não entendi nada...

Tentei descomentar e também colocar o XORG.CONF antigo (antes da atualização) e mesmo assim não funcionou....

Com essas informações alguém pode me ajudar agora??
