Olá, primeiro gotaria de dizer que o 10.4 está muito bom. Só tenho um problema com esta versão, que é o contraste muito forte. Já procurei aqui no fórum e no fórum internacional também, o que consegui perceber foi o seguinte: A placa do meu note é bem complicada(muitos reclamam dela) uma intel GMA 950; O problema de contraste muito forte afeta varios usuários; xgamma não ajuda muito no problema; em muitos casos esse problema fica sem resposta.
Gostaria de falar que meu note é uma acer 5630, com uma placa de video Intel GMA 950, 2GB ram e com processador intel Core 2 Duo T5500; e que já tentei usar programas externos para controle de contraste fornecidos pela central de programas do Ubuntu, assim como tentei intalar o programa de controle para linux da propria intel onde descompactei o arquivo configurei para instalação, porém não consegui instalar(o arquivo que aparecia no readme de instalação não apareceu).
Este contraste muito forte acaba me afastando do ubuntu 10.4 pois força muito a visão. Sei que não é a freqüência do monitor pois uso a mesma freqüência em outro O$. O brilho eu consigo controlar, mas o contraste... Gostaria que alguém me desse uma luz sobre como acabar com este problema para que finalmente possa migrar para o Ubuntu definitivamente.

Editado 20 de maio 2010: Olá, parece que o problema é mais sério do que pensei, pois depois de baixar alguns programas consegui uma resposta que me deixou mais confuso ainda. Com o programa: Seletor de sistemas multimídia eu consegui achar minha placa intel(até ai nenhum avanço), mas ao baixar um controlador vxgattr eu consegui acessar todas as configurações de meu video como saturação, brilho e principalmente contraste. Quando fui testar as configurações na area de testes no Seletor de sistemas multimídia, eu finalmente consegui alterar o contraste! Porém ao aplicar as configurações no Sistema de controle multimídia para que o ubuntu as usasse, o mesmo não usou. É como se o Ubuntu não alterasse minhas configurações de video pelo Sistema de controle multimídia. então eu consegui alterar o contraste, tanto que no teste ele altera e fica bom, mas o problema agora é que o Ubuntu não quer aceitar as configurações de video novas; assim o problema de contraste persiste.

Olá. Pelo visto meu problema é sério mesmo... Bom, ao tentar colocar aqui a minha configuração através do comando sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf uma janela em branco abre. Tentei achar o xorg.conf indo pelas pastas do ubuntu, mas quando chego em etc/X11 eu não acho o xorg.conf . Será que alguém pode me ajudar nesse problema?
