Drives Nvidia...

Olá!
Meu pc está com um probleminha na placa de vídeo fx5200:
Acho q o ubuntu nao esta reconhecendo, so consigo usar na resolução 800x600, na 1024x768 fica com poucas cores...
Problemas  no xorg.conf ou nos drives da placa?
Já tentei  sudo nvidia-glx-config enable depois de instalar os drives via sinapitc e outras coisinhas, entre elas o automatix, mas esse diz q nao encontrou a placa... alguma sugestao?

Instalar Driver Nvidia: (Dapper)

sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx nvidia-kernel-common

Tenho instalado o automatix, mas ele diz q não encontrou placa de video nvidia

valeu pela atenção
