Isso mesmo, você tem que editar o "sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces" e deixar como esta a minha máquinas:
# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).
# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
# This is a list of hotpluggable network interfaces.
# They will be activated automatically by the hotplug subsystem.
mapping hotplug
script grep
map eth0
# The primary network interface
iface eth0 inet dhcp
auto eth0
Eu tive o mesmo problema e ai consegui ajuda no fórum, e a rede ativa no boot, também uso pppoeconf.
Qualquer dúvida estou as ordens.
