a) Abra o Gerenciador de Pacotes Synaptic.
b) Abra o menu "Configurações" e clique em "Repositórios".
b) Será aberta então uma lista com os repositórios disponíveis, da qual NÃO constará, por estarem inativos, os repositórios Universe e Mulitverse. No entanto, na barra à direta você encontrará a tecla Adiciona. Clique ali.
c) Será aberta então uma segunda tela, desta vez com as opções para ativar os repositórios Universe e Multiverse. Assinale ambas as alternativas que a tela será fechada. Dê OK na tela anterior.
d) O Gerenciador avisará em seguida que os repositórios foram alterados e que será preciso atualizar as fontes. Dê OK. Depois de atualizadas as fontes, no máximo em alguns minutos, os repositórios Multiverse e Universe estarão disponíveis.
2.
Você pode ativá-los também via linha de comando.
a) Abra um terminal e dê o seguinte comando, para proteger sua lista de fontes:
sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list_backup
b) Feito isto, digite o seguinte comando, para abrir como sudo o editor Gedit:
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
Será aberto então um arquivo como este:
