ATI RADEON 9800 XT, como configurar ?

Olá pessoal,

Tenho uma ATI Radeon 9800 XT com Ubuntu 7.04.
Quando instalei o Ubuntu estava usando uma Nvidia FX5200 então  toda configuração que o Ubuntu fez foi para minha antiga placa. Com a troca o modo gráfico não inicializava mais, então simplesmente editei o xorg.conf e mudei o driver de "navidia" para "radeon" e o modo gráfico passou a funcionar.
Como nunca usei o Ubuntu com jogos ou aceleração 3D, não me preocupei em configurar a Radeon 9800XT adequadamente, mas agora quero usar o Flightgear ( http://www.br.flightgear.org/ ) e vou precisar de todo recurso que minha placa pode oferecer.
Pesquisei aqui no fórum  e na internet, mas como sou leigo não entendi muita coisa.
Estou postando meu xorg.conf para dizerem o que devo fazer ou quem sabe postarem um xorg.conf ideal para meu caso.

Como o pessoal não está muito animado para postar alguma resposta, resolvi fazer o seguinte :

Sistema>Admnistração>Gerenciador de Drivers Restritos>Driver de Aceleração de Vídeo ATI e cliquei em habilitado.

Após reiniciar o sistema voltei lá e driver está habilitado, mas a situação é "Não está em uso".
Como posso saber se a aceleração 3D da minha placa está ativada ?
