GProFTPd - Acesso externo

Pessoal,
Instalei e configurei o GProFTPd no Feisty.
Localmente estou conseguindo acessar perfeitamente.
Externamente, os clientes FTP, ao acessarem o endereço, recebem o pedido de user e psw mas não conseguem se conectar.

Utilizei o seguinte critério para a criação dos diretórios e usuários:

   Diretório:                       Usuário:
   /var/ftp                          user
   /var/ftp/comum             comum
   /var/ftp/fer                   fer
   /var/ftp/outros                 outros

Cada user somente vê sua pasta, com exceção do "user" que vê todas.
Será algum problema com permissões??? Devo configurar alguma permissão especial nos diretórios especificados?

No Feisty, existe algum outro serviço ou firewall que deve ser configurado para funcionar o acesso externo?
Meu modem e router estão configurados corretamente para aceitar acesso FTP pela porta 2121!

Criei os usuários no Feisty e não está funcionando o acesso externo.
OBS.: Reformulei e atualizei o tópico, na tentativa de me fazer entender e ser ajudado.
