Problemas com instalação de programas

Olá amigos. Sou um usuário iniciante do Ubuntu, e do fórum. Gostaria de pedir desculpas antecipadamente se estou postando minha dúvida no lugar errado.
Estou com problemas na instalação de novos programas (comando apt-get). Todo pacote que peço pra instalar, ou não é encontrado, ou dá erro. Desde já agradeço. Segue abaixo o resultado do apt-get update:

Você está usando uma versão do ubuntu bem antiga, que já saiu do suporte e não recebe mais atualizações. Tente baixar e usar uma versão mais nova, por ex. a 15.04.

Será que o contrario também da problema?
Estou tentando instalar o Brackets no 15.10 e da erro de repositorio. Já segui diversos tutoriais pela internet e nenhum funciona, sera que o pessoal da Brackets ainda não da suporte ao novo 15.10?

Aplicativos do Gutsy não irá funcionar no 15.10.

O aplicativo que você esta tentando instalar não existe nos repositórios ubuntu, no caso o >>-->>> Brackets

Veja se algum arquivo .DEB do site do desenvolvedor "Adobe" instala ai https://github.com/adobe/brackets/releases

Provavelmente não. Essa versão nova saiu ontem, ainda tá muito cedo para suportarem-na.
