Se o objetivo é instalar o conjunto de pacotes para deixar a parte multimídia completa... então faça isso:

Para a versão 9.10

no site onde minha irmã pegou isso, os caras falaram que se vc quer ter realmente tudo que o ubuntu pod oferecer d melhor
vc deve ter esses repositorios, mas ele so disse isso
ela estava interessada no

ela éh usuaria M$, e estava testando o karmic pra ver oque ele tem d melhor

Se vc instalar esses pacotes, praticamente vira um ubuntu studio... dá pra ver videos em todos os sites e no youtube, ouvir musica e radio online direto da internet, converter musicas para mp3 através do soudkonverter, reproduzir dvds etc..

Nem vale a pena instalar o ubuntu studio, aliás acho que não tem mais essa versão... não sei..

sobre o Ubuntu studio ainda existe sim tah na v:9.10 com kernel em tempo real!

Se vc for instalar o k3b, instale também esses pacotes:

Pacotes que devem ser instalados para o funcionamento do K3B:

cdparanoia (necessário para ripar e copiar CDs de áudio);

transcode (necessário para ripar DVDs, salvando os filmes em Divx);

libvorbisenc2 (biblioteca necessária para criar CDs de música a partir de arquivos .ogg);

vcdimager (necessário para criar VCDs);

normalize (permite normalizar o volume das faixas ao gravar CDs de música);

sox (esta é uma biblioteca que permite converter arquivos de áudio, necessária para criar CDs de áudio a partir de arquivos .mp3 ou .ogg);

liblame0 (necessária para gravar CDs de música a partir de arquivos .mp3);

libmusicbrainz4c2 (outra biblioteca, que permite que o K3B inclua corretamente as informações sobre as faixas (CD-Text) ao criar CDs de música a partir de arquivos .mp3 ou .ogg);

emovix (o K3B inclui uma opção para criar CDs ou DVDs bootáveis, contendo músicas ou filmes usando o emovix; veja mais detalhes sobre como instalá-lo a seguir);

gparted (mostra a partição gráfica do seu hd)

chkrootkit (faz inspeção no sistema e detecta se tem vírus, apenas detecta não tira o vírus)
