Alguns arquivos de índice falharam para baixar, eles foram ignorados ou os antigos foram usados no lugar.

Não sei se eu estou obtendo todas as atualizações que deveria, já tentei mudar o país mas o erro continua. O Gerenciador de Atualizações não zera a contagem de dias após a atualização, provavelmente por causa do erro. Gostaria de saber por que isso acontece e como resolver

Obs.: Inicialmente este post também incluia problemas sobre atualizações que nunca terminavam, mas descobri que isso era causado por um dos pacotes ia32 que fazia apt-get update pegar várias bibliotecas 32bits dos repositórios do Debian e converter para uso em 64bits, levando várias horas no processo.

Remover 00ia32-archive e 00ia32-libs-tools de /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/ resolveu. Encontrei esta informação em http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1143287&highlight=00ia32

Estou com o mesmo problema agora...

do nada o gerenciador de atualizações diz q fará uma atualização parcial e mesmo concordando ele não instala nada.

No Synaptic ao Recarregar a lista de pacotes ele faz o seguinte reclame:
