Placa NVIDIA monitor Braview - Problemas

Olá, sou novato em Ubuntu.
Tive alguma dificultade em instalar minha dial-up, mas com ajuda do forum consegui legal.
Agora eu tendo problemas em instalar minha placa de vídeo.

Meu equipamento : AMD sempron LE 1150 /Mobo : NF-MCP61/Bios: Award Phoenix V6.00PG/Mem: DDR2 1Gb 70ns/Placa : NVIDIA GE Force 6100 nforce 405/ Monitor : Braview - Brw0606 17' widh screen 60hz 1280x800.

Bem, depois de muita tentativas consegui instalar o Envy. Rodei e restartei.
Aí começa o problema. Se dou boot normal, abre o splash do Ubuntu e a reguinha(gauge) de carga.
Em vez da tela principal fica tudo escuro e a mensagem (do monitor) "out of range".
A partir dai só sai desligando o computador, e só entra através do recovery mode. (Try to fix X Server. Resume).

Entro em Sistema/Administrador/NVIDIA Server settings.
Ele abre uma tela dizendo "You do not appear to be using the Nvidia X Driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run 'nvidia-xconfig' as root, and restart X Serve)"

Obedeço e executo :~# nvidia-xconfig
Aí ele diz :
"Using X configuration file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf".
VALIDATION ERROR: Data incomplete in file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
                  Device section "Configured Video Device" must have a Driver
                  line.

Não sei mais o que fazer.
Alguém pode me ajudar???
