Amigos, estou com bastante dificuldade para fazer meu HD externo portátil funcionar, bem como meu segundo HD interno.
No caso do externo, trata-se de um Western Digital Passport 160Gb, com conexão via USB. Ele não está sendo montado quando o conecto.
Estou rodando o Ubuntu 7.04. Aqui vai o diagnóstico:

Assim que acabam as mensagens, não consigo mais rodar o comando lsusb (trava o terminal) e o HD portátil não aparece.
Alguém consegue me ajudar de alguma forma?
Bem, quanto ao 2o HD interno, eis a situação:
Tenho 2 HDs internos, um de 10Gb (no qual instalei o Ubuntu 7.04) e outro de 20Gb (no qual está instalado o Win XP). O HD do Ubuntu havia sido formatado e particionado do zero. O do WinXP não fiz nada (tá bem cheio, por sinal) e não consigo fazê-lo funcionar.
Já instalei o NTFS-3G, NTFS-Config etc. mas isso não ajudou. Quando abro o ntsf-config, a opção de dispositivo interno está inativa (quero dizer, não há como ativar nem desativar - somente a opção de dispositivo externo).
