Bug ao utilizar jogos (openGL) em fullscreen (ATI)

Olá, estou com um problema que não consigo resolver de forma alguma... em qualquer aplicação que necessite de "3D" tudo funciona normalmente ser rodado em uma janela, se colo em fullscreen a tela fica uma parte preta ou fica toda distorcida.
Minha placa de video eh uma ATI radeon 9500. Ubuntu 7.10

Vc precisa instalar os drives proprietários.
