Dois monitores no Ubuntu

Bom gente, eu irei posteriormente fazer um tutorialzinho mais completo sobre como configurei o linux para trabalhar em dual head, mas como estou meio sem tempo, por hora segue a configuração que eu fiz no /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Qualquer dúvida me adicionem no msn: geleiamocoto@hotmail.com

após isso dêem um 'sudo apt-get libxinerama1' e tende a funcionar

não exitem em me adicionar e em breve explicarei melhor...

Com "dual head" creio que vc queira dizer "dois monitores".

teria como fazer isso usando a saida da minha placa de video agp e a saida onbord da placa mae?

Não se a sua placa mãe desabilitar a placa onboard automáticamente ao se colocar a AGP. Caso seja necessário jumpear a sua placa mãe, talvez seja possível efetuar o processo. No primeiro caso, ao se fazer as configurações, o linux subirá os dois monitores mas com uma imagem não entendível nos dois (Porque o Linux enxerga a onboard mesmo desabilitada ), não sendo satisfatório o resultado.

E como fazer o Ubuntu reconhecer meus dois monitores de modo separado que mostre cada um dos dois desktops em um monitor, e não contínuo como o xinerama ...

Xinerama is an extension to the X Window System which allows applications and window managers to use the two (or more) physical displays as one large virtual display.

Detalhe, minha VGA é a descrita na assinatura: ATi RADEON X600XT com Uma saída VGA normal, uma S-Video e uma DVI.

Quero usar a saída normal + saída DVI (com adaptador para saída normal).

Será que tem como ?

Como assim, cara?... Desculpa mas eu não entendi de acordo com a mesma lógica que você... Usando dois desktops você não consegue usar os dois ao mesmo tempo, o que eu sei que o xinerama faz é um clone das telas como no ruindows mas eu confesso que não procurei a configuração sobre  :oops: Tenta me explicar um pouco mais detalhado o que você quer fazer e até mesmo, se possível para que que você quer fazer que eu posso ver se consigo ajudar...

Eu só consegui clonar minha área de trabalho p/ segundo monitor.
Vc conseguiu configurar para estender a área de trabalho p/ segundo monitor?
