Amigos,
Instalei o Cedega 5.0, mas ele sempre falha no teste de aceleração da minha placa. Com isso tentei instalar Diablo II, ele instala, mas fica muito lento. Penso que possa ser por isso.
Instalei os drivers da minha placa aceleradora de acordo com um tutorial daqui do fórum toda vez na hora que se inicia o servidor X ele mostra o logo da NVidia na tela.
Algúem sabe o que posso fazer para contornar isto?

opa, tenho problema semelhante no Cedega com o Ubuntu 6.06. Eu instalei os drives da nvdia pelo terminal (baixei o pacote apt-get...) configurei tudo corretamente, a aceleração gráfica supostamente estava ativa (direct rendering = yes) ... logo nvidia, xorg.conf configurado, entretanto não consiguia passar no teste de aceleração gráfica do cedega...  O que fiz?! reinstalei o Ubuntu 6.06 e ainda não instalei os drivers da nvidia... pretendo instalar hoje ainda!!!



Vale lembrar que possuo uma GeForce XFX 6200 AGP e já utilizei o Cedega no Mandriva, no qual consegui exito em todos os seus testes... ou seja a placa funciona no linux, deve ser algum problema específico... , enfim...se alguém tiver alguma dica, será que poderia nos ajudar?!

Não se desesperem caso o Cedega falhe no teste de aceleração, pra mim ele sempre falha, mas mesmo assim funciona. (tenho uma 9800pro)

Façam o teste do glxgears, digitando no terminal:

glxgears -printfps
Se o resultado for um valor bem mais alto do 1000 FPS, a aceleração está ativada.

Uma boa forma de medir é fazer este teste antes e depois de instalar o driver, aí é possível perceber a grande diferença entre ter e não ter aceleração 3D.

Minha placa é uma GeForce FX 5200 128MB. Com o Edgy estou conseguindo jogar bem o Diablo II (Somente quando inicio uma sessão com o XGL desativado). Habilitei o Fast Writes e tudo mais. O glxgears me mostra sempre mais de 3000 frames, mas mesmo assim nunca passo no teste do Cedega.

Acredito que quando a gente consegui resolver o problema do outro topico resolveremos este pois o XGL e incompativel com aceleração grafica por isto os jogos só rodam se vc inicia com o XGL dedsabilitado.

Entendo, mas mesmo com os jogos funcionando bem no Cedega, meu teste de aceleração gráfica sempre falha.

OFF:

Eu estava procurando por algumas respostas no website do Beryl e encontrei alguns tutoriais para instalar o Beryl no Ubuntu (http://wiki.beryl-project.org/index.php/Install/Ubuntu). Achei estranho, pois até agora só tinha visto 2 métodos de intalação, XGL e AIGLX e nesta página também aparece uma nVIDIA que utiliza o driver beta e não instala em nenhum momento o XGL. Alguém já testou este método?

Li o Wiki lá e realmente muito estranho pois nao instala realmente em nenhum momento o XGL. Pena eu estar com o Dapper e não da para mim testar.

Fiz alguns testes jogando (Quake III: Arena 1280x1024) com o XGL ativado e o desempenho 3D caiu drasticamente, acho que não é um bom negócio manter o XGL enquanto se roda algum programa ou jogo que exija aceleração.

Realmente Polaco

Para jogos e recomendado executar o X normal pois o XGL não ativa a aceleração 3D.
