Seguinte galera.

Estou com o Ubuntu 10.10 no meu note HP. Oque acontece é que em uso do meu note eu percebo que as vezes ele perde o audio quando vou abrir uma nova aplicação, geralmente a vmware.

Após isto não tem cristo que volte o audio, ja procurei alguma maneira de reiniciar o som, mas não encontrei nada plausivel para a solução

Alguém ja passou por algo parecido??

Tente este comando:
sudo alsa force-reload

O comando foi executado corretamente.

Talvez o problema seja outro...

Use o alsamixer para verificar o volume dos controles. Se preferir, instale o gnome-alsamixer.

Novamente o mesmo problema, e no alsa mixer os sons estão no máximo

Tente isto:

Edite o arquivo /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, adicionando a seguinte linha:

options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1

Dê um reload no Alsa:

sudo alsa reload
