server 10.04 sem acesso à rede

Amigos, acabo de instalar o Server 10.04, porém não consigo sair para rede interna, muito menos pra internet...

meu interfaces está assim:
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.1.10
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.1.0
broadcast 192.168.1.255
gateway 192.168.1.1

não consigo pingar nenhuma maquina da rede interna...

já usei até o route add

route add -net default gw 192.168.1.1

e nada... continua sem sair do local...

o que estou perdendo?

desculpe amigo, na hora de copiar, esqueci dessas linhas, elas já se encontram lá..

O mais estranho que não pinga nada... nenhuma máquina, o cabo está ok.. tirei de outra maquina usando windows e funcionava.. a placa está correta, no ifconfig, aparece as informações dela.. e lspci também aparece ela..

o que será que estou errando heim!?

Olá, desculpe a demora é que agora que consegui voltar à empresa...

Bom, acredito que a placa esteja funcionando, pois na instalação do server, ele me informou que tinha 2 placas.. e em qual era a primária, o que escolhi a on-board... depois não consigo mais reconhecer a outra...

Sim,  sei que detectada não quer dizer funcionando.. mas pelo menos o ubuntu server encontrou a placa em si...  ;)

Olha só, essa placa RTL8139 me parece estar com defeito. Tente trocá-la.
