Problemas na instalação (compilação).

Olá.

Tava tentando instalar um programa .gz e até certo ponto fazendo tudo direitinho. Extraí, rodei no terminal, dei o ./configure, instalei os pacotes que estavam faltando. O problema é que o ./configure continua apontando um erro e não cria o makefile pra eu dar continuidade à instalação. Já deixei de instalar uma porrada de programas por causa disso. O programa em questão é o gnome global menu. As informações que o ./configure me dá são essas:

Eu tentaria instalar o pacote:

Na verdade são os 2 erros, mas o segundo é contornável
Citarconfigure: error: test for libpanelapplet-2.0 and libnotify failed. (--without-gnome-panel to disable).
aí faltam 2 bibliotecas que podem ser desabilitadas na compilação com a opção acima passada no configure.
