Baixe o pacote modem-arquivos-v22.tar.gz pelo windows no link indicado, coloque na sua pasta de usuário dentro da pasta home. Descompacte ele clicando com o botão direito do mouse e escolhendo extrair aqui. Será criada uma pasta chamada de modem-arquivos-v22, entre nela e leia o guia_instalação.pdf e o arquivo Leia-me.txt para saber como usar o pacote que fiz.

Ok, fico no aguardo.

Cara tentei aki e não deu certo. Criei tudo direitinho como manda o .pdf mas não conecta de jeito nenhum. Quando eu clico em conectar aparece a seguinte msg de erro: "Can not open modem". Na 2° tentativa aproveitei e cliquei em detect e apareceu: "Modem not found". Enfim não deu certo mesmo.

vamos ver o que pode estar ocorrendo. Veja que o driver Smartlink que uso é estes slmodem-2.9.11-20080126.tar.gz datado de 26/01/2008, portanto bem mais recente do que o que vem em CD slmodem-2.9.10.tar.gz.

Pediria que quando você fosse no Ubuntu digitasse no terminal os seguintes comandos:

dmesg | grep slamr

ps -aux | grep slmodemd

lsmod

e colasse aqui os resultados.


Outra coisa que pode ter acontecido é que durante o processo de instalação ele não adicionou o LiveCD do Ubuntu ( tem que ser o LiveCD original e não uma remasterização) na lista dos repositórios de onde baixar pacotes. Isso é importante por que irá instalar os compiladores que estão no LiveCD e não foram instalados por padrão.

Para saber se os compiladores foram instalados procure pelo synaptic ( menu Sistema > Administração > Gerenciador de pacotes Synaptic) pelos seguintes pacvotes:

- make
- gcc
- build-essential
- linux-headers-2.6.22-14-generic

caso estejam instalados tem um quadrado verde antes do nome.

Atenção que o driver do modem só serve para o Ubuntu 32bits e não para o Ubuntu 64bits.

O script de instalação que você deve dar permissão de execução e executar é o chamado de install-modem_Gnome

Preste atenção na primeira pergunta que o instalador faz sobre o nome do usuário corrente que você deve digitar como resposta exatamente o nome que você digita para entrar no Ubuntu e não o nome de acesso do provedor.

Quando for perguntado qual é o nome de acesso do seu provedor digite ele de forma completa, ou seja com o @ e domínio, por exemplo, usuario@provedor.com.br e não só usuario como se faz nos discadores do windows que completam o resto.

Para alguns modems o discador gnome-ppp na sua configuração aba Opções a opção verificar portadora tem de ficar desmarcada e ela vem por padrão marcada pelas configurações.

Você notou algum erro no processo de compilação e instalação?

Se tudo estiver na mais perfeita ordem e mesmo assim não conecta, abra um terminal e digite:

sudo /etc/init.d/sl-modem-daemon restart

e só então tente usar novamente o discador gnome-ppp que se encontra no menu Aplicações > Internet > GNOME PPP

desculpe o comando dmesg está errado seria assim:

dmesg | grep slamr

O que posso perceber é que ocorreu algum erro na compilação.

Quando você compila o driver de forma correta ele cria os módulos slamr.ko, slusb.ko o ungrab_winmodem.ko e mais o executável slmodemd.

Perceba que pelo comando lsmod ( listar módulos carregados) aparece o slamr e o ungrab_winmodem, o slusb só aparece para modems usb.

Já o comando ps -aux | grep slmodemd não mostra o executável slmodemd ativo. Era aparecer algo assim:

/usr/sbin/slmodemd --perm=0666 -c BRAZIL /dev/slamr0


ou assim:

/usr/sbin/slmodemd --perm=0666 -c BRAZIL --alsa hw:0

Você poderia ir lá no Ubuntu abrir um terminal e digitar:

sudo /etc/init.d/sl-modem-daemon restart

e depois os comandos:

dmesg | grep slamr

ps -aux | grep slmodemd

verifique também para mim se o executável slmodemd se encontra em /usr/sbin

OBSERVAÇÃO: o comando sudo /etc/init.d/sl-modem-daemon restart é para ser dado e logo depois usado o discador gnome-ppp E NÃO para ser dado e depois reinciar o computador como me parece que você fez ok.

Perceba que a ID do vendedor é: 2000 e a ID do Dispositivo é: 2800, portanto as IDs deste modem são 2000:2800 que é exatamente a ID do seu modem, pois os comandos lspci e lspci -n retornaram isso:
