Amigo fiz... isso... não sei se fiz corretamente, não entendi muito o que fazer no final...?
mas no ínicio estava dando tudo ok...
Me explica ai... ver o que tenho que fazer a mais.

sudo apt-get install build-essential

wget ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/firmware/alsa-firmware-1.0.15.tar.bz2

tar -xjvf alsa-firmware-1.0.15.tar.bz2

cd alsa-firmware-1.0.15

./configure

cd ymfpci

make

Depois tres arquivos serão criados ds1_ctrl.fw ds1_dsp.fw ds1e_ctrl.fw

E só vc copiar eles para lib/firmware/yamaha vai no terminal e digita sudo nautilus e copia os arquivos

Mas o Ubuntu não tem o driver pra essa placa?
O dispositivo foi reconhecido, mas não carregado, como ele mostrou no asoundconf list. Tenta aí um sudo modprobe snd-ymfpci e veja se algum aplicativo emite som, até mesmo o aplay com um arquivo wav.

Amigo nada... nenhum aplicativo sia som.

Citarsudo apt-get install build-essential
