Ubuntu não reconhece a saída de áudio para HDMI

Boa noite pessoal!

Estou com um problema aqui que não estou conseguindo configurar o som do notebook que utilizo (ASUS N46VM) através do HDMI.

Antecipo aqui que tentei vários tutoriais já, e o problema é que a saída simplesmente não é mostrada nas opções de som.. Tentei com o pavucontrol, alsamixer, e nada.. Tentei também este tutorial, na esperança de que resolveria, mas nada mudou. Alguém já passou por isso?

Observações:
1) A imagem está saindo, porém o som não (como podem ver abaixo a saída nem é reconhecida, como comentei)
2) No windows sai o som normalmente (ou seja, não é problema de cabo, da TV, ou da saída HDMI em si)

Primeiro o som sai normal sem o cabo HDMI???
Se sair normal o problema e do cabo HDMI, se seu pc tem saida HDMI, logico, tem uma segunda solução sem o som sair normal no notebook, você pode usar um cabo que tenha entrada tipo fone de ouvido e saida com o cabo vermelho e branco(vc compra em loja de eletroeletronicos, parabolicas, etc.). A tv para qual você esta tentando conectar e uma smart tv???, algumas tem que configurar primeiro a conexão para depois você ver. Boa Sorte.

Sim o som sai normal sem o cabo HDMI, e também não é problema no cabo ou nas configurações da TV ou do próprio notebook pq tenho dual boot nele e no windows funciona normalmente..
