Totem rodando rmvb com som!!!

Instala esse pacote com o synaptic:

   ---- totem-xine (em substituição ao totem-gstreamer, padrão do Ubuntu).
   
o segundo pacote é o w32codecs que eu instalo com o automatix!!!


Após isto, é necessária a realização do seguinte procedimento:

    ---- Abrir o arquivo ~/.xine/catalog.cache
    ---- Encontrar a sessão “[/usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.4/xineplug_decode_real_audio.so]” e modificar apenas o atributo “decoder_priority=5″ para “decoder_priority=10″.

Basta fechar o totem e abrí-lo novamente para que seja possível reproduzir os arquivos RMVB.

não encontrei o codec w32 na lista dos synaptics

Qual a versão do seu ubuntu???
 aki vai a minha sources.list para Vc colar no lugfar da sua. É so copiar e salvar. Claro so vai usar essa sources.list se seu ubuntu for 7.04, o feisty.
Vc abre o terminal e vai digitar: cd /etc/apt
                                                     sudo gedit sources.list

Copiar a minha e colar em cima da sua. MAS SO SE FOR UBUNTU 7.04 FEISTY
