Na nova versão 16.04 do Ubuntu, quando tento instalar por exemplo um arquivo .deb, o sistema simplesmente avisa

e não installa absolutamente nada. Procurei configurações de segurança mas não encontrei nada. Alguém tem uma luz sobre isso?

Isso não garante que o programa será instalado, mas pelo menos vai gerar um log do porque não instala.
Pode até ser falta de alguma dependência ou algo do tipo.

Aconteceu exatamente isso  quando fui instalar o Chrome no Ubuntu 16.04, rodei um apt-get install -f que resolve dependências e funcionou.

Segui o tutorial deste site, e instalou perfeitamente o módulo e ficou ativo no meu Ubuntu 16.04 64 bits.
