Problemas com o compartilhamento de impressora via samba

No setor onde trabalho existe uma rede interna e como de costume, ao realizar uma manutenção, converti dois computadores para o Ubuntu 12.04. Deixei um terceiro com o windows.

Acontece que a impressora do setor está ligada por cabo usb ao pc com ubuntu e preciso compartilha-la com o outro ubuntu e com o pc windows 7. Não entendo muito de rede, mas estudei o que pude e segui o tutorial http://www.hardware.com.br/tutoriais/impressoras-samba/
mas não consegui fazer com que fosse possível usar a impressora a partir dos outros pcs

A impressora está cadastrada no Cups? Você imprime normalmente nela, a partir do Ubuntu?

Depois de confirmar isso, execute o comando "testparm" e cole o resultado aqui.

Sim. É uma Samsung ML-2851ND que está funcionando normalmente no ubuntu, a partir do usb. Pelo ou outro pc com ubuntu, ou mesmo com windows, via rede, não funciona.

Tenho estudado um pouco essa configuração e até consegui enxergar a impressora alvo a partir da outra máquina. Porém, agora o erro é:

Session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
NT_STATUS_ACCESS-DENIED

Se entendi direito, o problema agora é usuário e senha. Porém, colocando o usuário e senha usados para acesso da máquina servidor, aparece uma mensagem de senha incorreta.

Deve ser um detalhezinho que não estou enxergando...

O usuário de acesso e senha que o SAMBA pede ao acessar remotamente o conteúdo do servidor são automaticamente os mesmos de acesso direto, ou é preciso criar algum arquivo de configuração com esses dados?

Leu errado. O que controla o compartilhamento da impressora é a opção "printable = yes".

Essa opção "guest ok = yes" libera o uso da impressora sem autenticação, o que pode ser que facilite o uso.

No entanto, lá em cima vc está usando uma opção "map to guest = bad user", que ao pé da letra faz com que um usuário que não se autentique seja mapeado a um usuário inválido. Por isso que eu estranhei, seria o caso de verificar com e sem essas diretivas pra ver como fica o comportamento.
