pro ao tentar instalar placa de rede

Estou tentando instalar uma placa de rede wireless em um HP Pavillion 2420,
mas ao tentar instalar bcm43xx-fwcutter ele da pau:
 
sudo apt-get install bcm43xx-fwcutter
Lendo Lista de Pacotes... Pronto
Construindo Árvore de Dependências... Pronto
E: Impossível achar pacote bcm43xxo pacote bcm43xx-fwcutter

voce deve habilitar no sources.list os respositorios universe e multivese.. aqui funciona tranquilo

qualquer coisa pode baixar o pacote .deb daqui

http://packages.ubuntulinux.org/dapper

ou daqui

http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages

poderia me explicar melhor ou passar o link direto pra baixar esse pacote ? pq sou meio leigo em linux..

Como faço para rastrear redes sem fio, gnome tem alguma ferramenta?
