Apaptador wireless em Desktop ,não sei como instalar os drives pelo cd...

Comprei o seguinte adaptador Wireless sem-fio USB 802.11g de 400 metros de alcance,mas não sei como instalar os drives pelo CD de instalação,pois deve precisar ,porque quando conecto na porta usb este pede a senha do wifi da rede wireless da casa vizinha e fica sem entrar,eis as informações:

Se alguém puder me orientar e dizer se é preciso instalar os drives do cd que tem em Linux,Windows e Mac,peço ajuda,porque está muito difícil me conectar pela oi,já na casa de meu irmão José Gomes a conexão é bem mais rápida e de graça.

Tem uma série de comandos que precisam ser executados, inclusive alguns arquivos que vc precisa editar manualmente. No entanto, esse adaptador tem um driver nativo, vc já viu se ele não está funcionando, antes de tentar compilar um módulo de kernel? Nem eu, que tenho 20 anos de estrada, me sinto confortável fazendo isso.

 zekkerj quando conecto este adaptador na entrada usb o Ubuntu 12.04 lts reconhece e pede as senhas do meu wifi e do wifi do meu irmão ,mas não consigo navegar pela web por ele e este fica desconectando pedindo alternadamente uma das senhas ,é por causa disto que estou disposto a tentar executr os comando e você puder me orientar,agradeço e se não peço que avise outra pessoa que conheça.

tentei no site do fabricante,mas não encontrei este drive;rt2870sta.ko,peço ajuda,pois já estou pensando em instalar o Windows 8 de um amido em dual boot com o Ubuntu 12.04.4 lts ,pois um outro amigo disse que um adaptador de mesmo modelo funciona com os drives do fabricante śo que no Windows 8,espero respostas...
